Cinnamon Dough
[DO NOT EAT THIS DOUGH!!!]

1/4 c. ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp. ground cloves

About 2 Tbsp. applesauce

  1. Pour the cinnamon and cloves into a small bowl.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of applesauce and mix into the cinnamon. Add applesauce a little at a time until you have a stiff dough (do not add too much applesauce!)
  3. Roll the dough about 1/4" thick and cut with cookie cutters. If you wish to hang your pretend cookies on the Christmas tree, don't forget to make a hole in the top with a straw or toothpick.
  4. Place on a wire rack or cookie sheet and put in a warm spot to dry. (They could take several days to dry completely-the top of the refrigerator is usually a good place). Turn the pretend cookies over periodically so that they will dry without warping.
  5. Use a ribbon or string to hang pretend cookies from the tree.
They can be saved from year to year if wrapped in tissue and stored flat.
